Woodshop team meeting 27/10/22

Attendance:

• Ale • Matt • Tom Miller

General Business

• The woodshop is still seeking more volunteers for the team:

o The preference is to use Ale’s time for actually maintaining tools and keeping the woodshop running, rather than using his time on routine admin.

o Ryan and John are likely leaving the woodshop team and need replacements. Prior to next month’s meeting we need to confirm their intentions to formally end their woodshop volunteer requirements.

o Tom has been volunteering his time and efforts at the woodshop. The woodshop will officially onboard Tom shortly.

Updates on Ongoing Projects

Speaker and Mezzanine Project:

• There is still no interest or engagement from any of the membership in regards to the speaker project

• Matt has emailed Gray’s and Pickles in regards to selling the speaker stock as an Auction. We are waiting for a response from them. We will report on the response ASAP.

• The woodshop is eager to progress with the Mezzanine project – We will be moving the stock from the Mezz into a storage container so that we can utilise the Mezz properly. The goal is to have the Mezz empty by end of November.

Tool sales:

• Money has been transferred to treasurer. Receipts have been sent to Josh

• Axminster dust extractor – sold - $100

• Carbatec Table Saw - sold - $800

• Carbatec Band Saw – Sold - $180

The woodshop has received a tool donation. At this stage the team is proposing to sell these items. As per previous tool donations, we will research prices to sell them for, with discounted pricing for members, but details to be advised shortly. If anyone has interest in these tools, please contact Ale or Matt, or respond in the woodshop forum.
