Engine Crane

A crane for lifting engines and putting them back down.

Unfold the engine crane and lock it in place before use. Operate it like a hydraulic floor jack.

Do not use the engine crane to store an engine. The crane is only to be used to pick up and put down objects. Leaving the crane extended can cause rust on the hydraulic ram's exposed shaft.

  • Observe the weight limit of the engine crane. Keep in mind that the crane's capacity is de-rated as the length of the jib is increased, so you cannot lift the maximum capacity at the maximum extension.
  • Don't forget that the weight you look up for an engine may not be for a fully dressed engine - it often excludes manifolds, alternators, AC compressors etc.
